What Causes Cracking Sound And Severe Pain In Lower Back And Leg After Weight Lifting?
I was lift weights (doing bent over rows) and I felt a pop and then excruciating pain in my lower back I cant walk cant sit for long periods I have pain in my legs and have had several bowel movements where I barely made it to the bath room should I go to the ER I work in sheet metal fabrication so it is important
hi thank you for asking your concern and welcome to hcm. sudden pain in back radiating to leg after weight lift is most likely a prolapsed intervertebral disc or nerve entrapment, few chances are there of muscle injury, but as you are having difficulty in walking and sitting propsed disc is more likely. i strongly suggest to go to ER and as you have altered bowel also. severe injury may some time cause damage to nerve and it will take many days to heal and to relieve pain. if the treatment starts early then duration of hospital stay will also decreases if need of admission is there. if you have any painkillers with you like paracetamol, brufen then please take it. it will atleast decrease some inflammation and go for ER definitely. if you feel any doubt please ask us regards dr. abhijit
