What Causes Crackling Sound In Chest While Suffering From Cough?
My daughters have had a virus that has left them with a fever for several days and a bad cough. One was eventually diagnosed with pneumonia. Now I have the same virus I m sure but I ve noticed on a couple of occasions a crackle sound in my chest and right after, I usual end up cough up a lot of mucus. Is the crackling noise a bad thing?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have crackling sound in chest while suffering from cough which is due to pneumonia or bronchitis. Need not to worry. It normally occurs in pneumonia. I would suggest you to take decongestant drops like sinarest along with cough syrup. You should visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests as well to check exact level of infection. You need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. You should take cough expectorants as well. You should use mist humidifiers in room.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
