What Causes Crackling Sound In The Left Ear?

I have a crackling/spongy sound in my left ear as if there is water of something in it. From what I've read on-line it might be an ear infection but nothing hurts. The sound happens when I move my jaw and if I push my ear and and down. This is just on the left ear. Nothing on the right. Please help.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi
this crackling sound is mostly due to the patulous nature of the eustachian tube.
eustachian tube in simple words is the tube which connects your nose with ear and maintains airation of the middle ear.
hence i would suggest you to visit an ent specialist where you can get your ear examined and get proper solution to your problem.
regards
