Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was helping someone move a bunch of old wood which homed a bunch off different insects. all off a sudden my hand cramped up and i could not open it all the way. Shortly after now i am able to open my hand and i am just left with a little numbness in my arm and hand. not much pain really. I wasnt drinking a lot of water so im thinking dehydration may be possible as well? Thanks for any advice.
Hello there, With the sudden history of cramping and its resolution it is likely that it may be dehydration especially if you had lost a lot of fluids and salt as sweat. You can have gatorade or coconut water or even a glass of water with oral rehydration solution mixed in it and have 3-4 glasses of it through the day. It should take care of the cramping if it is a muscle and fluid related issue.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to get back to me with any further questions,
