SO I HAVE IRREGULAR PERIODS AND HAD TO GET THE MIRENA INSTALL ABOUT 31/2 YEARS AGO BUT NOW IM FEELING CRAMPS ALL THE TIME AND HEADACHES I ALSO HAVE LOWER BACK PAIN ALL THE TIME ALWAYS TIRER /WEAK MOOD SWINGS AND WEIGHT GAIN SO I M WONDERING WOULD IT BE SAFE TO TAKE THE MIRENA OUT SINCE I HAVE IRREGULAR PERIOD

Dear- thanks for using our service. It is safe to take out the Mirena, it does not control the menstrual period but contraception. If you have irregular menstrual period , it is better to take birth control pill which will help that and the contraception. However, mood swings and weight gain are part of the hormonal components of the birth control medication, but you can talk to your gynecologist to find one with less hormone concentration.
