Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Cramps In Feet Along With Involuntary Curling Of Toes?
I m a teacher and am on my feet a lot. Recently, I have noticed that I get cramps in my feet and they will cause some of my toes to involuntarily curl and stiffen on their own. My arches are normal (not too high or flat); what could be the cause of this? This usually happens when I wear flat shoes, not heeled. I also never wear high heels to work; they are usually only a 1 inch heel.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Taimoor's Response
Hi and welcome to HCM. I'm Dr. Taimur and I will be addressing your health concerns. I have read your question and understand your concern.
Bending of toes involuntarily may be due to a number of reasons but on top is low serum calcium levels. Other possibilities are pulling of skeletal muscles, some joint problem etc. To reach a diagnosis we have to perform a thorough neurological examination and do following investigations 1. Full blood counts 2. serum calcium levels 3. serum electrolytes levels. 4. Digital X-ray of the affected limb.
After all these we will be able to clinch a diagnosis. Meanwhile you should take 1 glass milk daily. And Do some aerobic exercises.
I hope this might be of some help, if you have any query feel free to ask me any time. Thanks. Dr. Taimur
