What Causes Cramps In Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?
My wife is expecting twins. She was prescribed duphaston upto 5th month and was stopped after that. she is 6mnths now and her stomach has started drupping stlightly downwards. She is also experiencing small cramps in her lower abdomen. Are these signs of premature delivery. Please advice.
Hello dear,i understand your concern. In my opinion the symptoms of preterm delivery might be pain abdomen with or without backache. But physical examination is necessary for definite diagnosis. So i suggest you to consult your doctor to rule out any preterm labour. The cramps can be muscular origin also but as she is carrying twins there is risk of preterm labour so ruling out preterm labour is necessary.Adequate fluids upto 3 litres daily and cranberry juice prevent urinary infections.Because sometimes urine infection might also lead to preterm labour. Hope this satisfies your query. Feel free to discuss further.
