What Causes Cramps In The Hands And Feet While Suffering From COPD?

My husband returned from the ER from being treated for Bronchitis/COPD and since being home he is suffering from cramping of his hands, feet and leg muscles. He was prescribed Azithromycin and Prednisone and was given this while in the ER. How can he relieve the cramping of his hands or should he return to the ER?
