What Causes Cramps In The Lower Abdomen?

Hello, I ve had lower belly/pelvic cramps the last couple of days, it started Tuesday afternoon. I feel like i need to have a bowel movement or pass gas, they also feel like menstrual cramps. Its been a few days since a good bowel movement, but I still go, just not like normal. My last period started on March 10th. The cramps are periodic throughout the day. Is this a cause for concern or possibly constipation?
