Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am type 2 diabetic for about years now. during the past 6 months i have been getting cramps on the soles of both feet. i notice them while i am laying face down. while resting or going to sleep i will flex my toes to help relax and the cramps hit. it hurst worse in the arch of both feet.
Hello and thank you for your question. Most of the time foot cramps are due to either dehydration or not getting enough vitamins or minerals. Dehydration is common in diabetics if your sugars is running high. Make sure you drink plenty of water and that your sugars are controlled. Avoid all drinks with alcohol or caffeine (coffee, tea, soda) and take a multivitamin/multimineral supplement daily Good luck
