Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
last couple of weeks I have had a tightness in my jaw under my left ear with a sensation of drainage or bugs crawling in my ear. there is nothing in there but it keeps doing it. I took Allegra D and it is still there. the sensation is not in the ear, it is right where the canal starts. Also I have been losing more hair lately. I have always had a lot of hair but lately losing more than normal. I thought Thyroid but I have no other Symptoms.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of crawling sensation in the ear which is due to ear infection which sometimes remain persistent and leads to recurrent otitis media and crawling sensation. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. You should apply warm dry compresses to external ear. You should consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine with otoscope to check level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics such as Levofloxacin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
