Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My mom has this feeling of something crawling in her gums for few months now. It is always there and she does not have any teeth. She also involuntarily makes the spitting sound. We have consulted few Neurologists in Kurnool, Nandyal also tried homeopathy and Ayurveda, nothing seems to help her. We have also consulted few dentists and nobody says anything concrete.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your mom is having symptoms of crawling sensation on the gums due to either a major cavity or due to excessive plaque or food debris accumulation in that area. This can cause bone resorption, cyst formation as well. I would suggest you to maintain oral hygiene properly. Visit dentist once and get an IOPA (X-ray ) done for that tooth. Infection or cavity will be clearly seen in X-ray and then dentist will start with RCT of particular tooth along with cleaning, scaling and root planning of that area. Till take you should take antibiotics such as ibuprofen if you not allergic to that for prevention of further spread of infection and protect the affected area. Keep doing brushing twice a day and flossing along with that. apply cold compressors if swelling is getting increased.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
