Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Crawling Sensation With Pain In Between The Jaw And Inner Ear?
Pretty constant crawling sensation (feels like a caterpillar) with periods of dull aching between jaw bone and inner ear...doctor looked said very little ear wax and could see nothing else...has been occurring for several months and experience 3-5 headachs a week...please give me some ideas about how to relieve this it is starting to interfere with my sleep
The symptoms can be probably related to nerve disorder and as it is on the face it can be due to trigeminal nerve. Consult a neurophysician and get evaluated. An MRI scan can be done for confirmation.
In case if nerve related problem is diagnosed then you can be advised neurotic pain killers like Carbamazepine, Gabapentin, Baclofen, etc. Along with it if needed surgical intervention can also be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
