What Causes Crunching Sound And Pain In Biceps After Extending Arms?

A while back i was closing a window my extending my arms out, palms up, and pushing upward with my hands. I heard a crunching sound from my bicep muscle and it hurt like the dickens. The pain has mostly gone away but every once in awhile, if i lift something just right, it will twinge and slighty hurt. its been a few months since the original injury. could a muscle tear take that long to heal, or could i have done something more serious to a tendon?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If the pain is at the end of muscles then there is a chance of tendon injury however the treatment consists of both is giving rest to the muscle as much as possible. It may take long, may be few weeks or months for the muscle to recover fully, so wait patiently and provide rest to the muscle.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
