Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A 3 year old gets sores on her face and other parts of her body. They get crusty and disappear but every so often more appear. She has been on an antibiotic and they still keep coming. The first diagnosis was impotego but, because it keeps recurring on the antibiotic and her sibling has not gotten any, the doctor seems to think it is a misdiagnosis. Are there other possibilities?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have rust like sores on face and body. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like allergic reaction , sun burn rashes , psoriasis , skin infection ( fungal ) and other skin conditions like , seborrheic dermatitis and scarlet fever . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test , skin test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment , immunosuppressants and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also prescribe anti fungal . For now stay away from dry environment , avoit any cosmetic product except petroleum jelly and take benadryl twice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
