What Causes Crusty Beads At The Corner Of Eye?

on the outside and just below the corner of my eye right in the curve of the bone that I guess is my eye socket, there is a tender and somewhat crusty area on which forms little beads. My dermitologist years ago gave them the liquid nitrogen treatment but they still keep coming back. Is there any other treatment or salve that would help ?

Hi,

The crusty beads that form at the corner of the eye could be caused by several different factors. Most common causes are:
* Blepharitis: This is a common condition that causes inflammation and irritation of the eyelids. It can cause crusty debris to form at the base of the eyelashes, and it can also lead to redness, itching, and burning of the eyes.
* Allergies: Allergies can cause irritation and inflammation of the eyes, leading to the formation of crusty beads at the corners of the eyes. Common allergens include pollen, dust, and pet dander.
* Eye infections: Bacterial or viral infections of the eye can cause a buildup of debris and discharge, which can form crusty beads at the corners of the eyes.
* Seborrheic dermatitis: This is a type of skin condition that can affect the eyelids and cause redness, itching, and flaking. It can also lead to the formation of crusty beads at the corners of the eyes.

Treatment for crusty beads at the corner of the eye will depend on the underlying cause. Here are some general tips that may help:
- Cleanse the area with a gentle cleanser or warm water to remove any debris.
- Apply a warm compress to the area to help loosen any debris.
- Avoid rubbing or scratching the area, as this can cause further irritation.

If the problem persists, see an ophthalmologist or dermatologist for further evaluation and treatment. They may prescribe medicated eye drops or ointments, or recommend other treatments depending on the underlying cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
