What Causes Cyst On Earlobe?

Hi, I recently discovered a small hard lump on my earlobe about a week ago. My mom felt it and determined it was just a small cyst. However, it hurts when I touch it and I swear it moved from its original location. When I first noticed the cyst, it was right in the center of my earlobe, but now it is closer to the ear hole opening. Should I get this cyst checked out? Or is it nothing to worry about.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
This type of cyst particularly in the ear lobe is very common and NOTHING to worry , it is not dangerous.
1 Dermoid cyst
2 Sebaceous cyst .
3 Pyoderma ( infection of skin overlying ear lobe.
When such patient visit I at once incise it with minimum blood oozing .
Within 5-7 days heal and all . So consult a surgeon and he will remove it .
Not a cause of concern.
I find this answer helpful
