Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having cyst in ovary . they are 3 in no. And less than 5 mm. I am also facing excess bleeding in periods. Since 6 months I have some skin marks on face. Since 1 year I am taking medicine so bleeding is reduced little.. But not stopped yet.... My age is 45...plz suggest want to do
There may be functional ovarian cyst which regresses spontaneously with time but this usually happens at younger patients. At your age it is uncommon. So may be these cysts are of other types and at older age, these cysts may turn to malignancy after long time. You have taking medicine for excessive menorrhoea....so i am assuming that you have done some checkups eg USG abdomen & pelvis, but you does not mention the type of cyst, also the affected side of ovary. If you have not diagnosed for cyst type, then you should go for USG abdomen followed by histopathological tests. And after that because you are approching the age of menopause, you can go for hysterectomy with oophorectomy of affected side for permanent cure.
