Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dark Blood On The Pee After Ovarian Cyst Rupture?
I had an ovarian cyst rupture 4 days ago. It s a complex cyst so it s still there, only part of it ruptured. But the hospital sent me home that day with pain meds. Tonight, I went to pee and there was dark blood on the paper. It wasn t heavy but wasn t light either. It s not time for my period. Is this normal?
Presence of blood on the paper after you pee can be due to urinary or vaginal origin and in some case even rectal. You will need a visit to identify the origin of the bleeding with a good examination including a gynecological examination and a urinalysis and also possibly rectal exam. After the doctor is sure of the origin of the bleeding might ask more tests to find out why and will have a better understanding of the treatment you need.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
