What Causes Dark Brown Urine During Treatment For Gastric Problems?

Hi, I had gastric problems and have been prescribed Metrogyl Compound tablet for a 5 day course here in India. Just now today while urinating I see that my urine color is dark brownish - red. What is the reason for this must I visit the doctor again? Thanks

Hello
Doctor prescribed METRONIDAZOLE ( metrogyl) .
The side effect of metrogyl are nausea, numbness , metallic taste DARK URINE headache & others.
As you mentioned that you are passing dark brownish urine after intake of metrogyl so this dark color urine may be a side effect of your drug .
So once again consult your physician and get his opinion.
