Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having dark brown discharge that is clumpy and stringy. This has been happening for about two weeks or so. I ve barley had cramping, it s not really heavy either. Sometimes it s a little red but it is nostly dark brown. Before this started, I was very nauseous and would get sick when I ate. I took 2 pregnancy test, both came up negative. What could it be? Should I go to my obgyn?
Welcome to HCM This is Dr Amit. Vaginal discharge serves an important housekeeping function in the female reproductive system.Any change in the vagina's balance of normal bacteria can affect the smell, color, or discharge texture. There are a few reasons why a woman's vaginal discharge may be brown in color. The most common are pregnancy, implementation bleeding, any infection or polyp and Perimenopause. As you have already mentioned that pregnancy test come negative for two times so pregnancy is excluded. So I will advise you to consult your gynecologist he/she will determine the underlying etiology after taking history doing couple of examination and test like ultrasound Feel free to ask if you have any other doubts Regards
