What Causes Dark Brown Vaginal Discharge?

I am experiencing heavy dark brown/black discharge. The brown discharge started about 2 weeks ago but once I reached my placebo pills, the discharge got heavier and I am experiencing more cramps. It is almost as if I am on my period but the blood is dark brown/black. I am not experiencing any pain/weird smells. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and they were all negative.

Hi,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, periods vary with age, stress and certainly if going with new birth control pills.
Or it could be abnormal bleeding anywhere in the reproductive tract. Obviously, if it goes away in 2 days, it is not likely to be serious but if it persists, then someone with chronic blood loss will have to seek medical attention.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
