What Causes Dark Brown Vaginal Spotting Long After Endometrial Ablation?

I am 2 yrs post ablation and found dark brown spotting the past 2 days. I m not sure of my cycle because I have had no signs of it in 2 years. Going on the fact that our cycles seem to join up with our close friends, my cycle should be this week. All the women I work with are within the same week and a half time period. Is it normal to have started bleeding again or should I be looking into something different a a cause?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Taking count that you were without a cycle for two years you are in menopause and every bleeding or spotting is considered abnormal.

You should do an ultrasound and possibly a d&c procedure is needed and biopsy is done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
