Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have several circular rashes that has now darkened and peeling but 3 appears to be darker than before. I recently went to a dermatologist who said it was some sort of aerial virus and deemed it as nothing but I believe it to be otherwise. There is currently three that seems to be getting darker and not fading like the others.
Your symptoms are indicative of infection by jock itch. Take care of your hygiene. Take bath regularly. Wear soft loose fitting cotton clothes. Do not touch or scratch the rashes, it will only cause spread of the infection. You can take antihistamine at bedtime. This will help you get rid of itching and other allergy symptoms.
You should take antifungals like a course of fluconazole orally. It will control the infection from spreading and get rid of it. The skin needs to be kept dry and clean. Do not wear clothing's that rub and irritate the area affected. It should get well in 12-15 days. In case the symptoms remain persistent then you are advised to get it clinically examined by a Gynae. It can be an eczema and require specialized treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
