Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dark Grey Urine Days After Stopping Medicine?
I have PKD, I inherited it from my father. 2 weeks ago I was put in the hospital for severe back and abdominal pain. I was passing alittle bit of blood in urine. After I got out of the hospital, four days later my left side did the same thing except not as much pain. All the medicine that the doctors put me on should be out of my system now but I am now passing dark grey urine. What could this be?
Some medications can lead to this color change. If you have any symptoms, you can go for a urine examination also. For PKD, control BP, treat UTI, avoid direct trauma to the abdomen, drink large amounts of water and rest. If blood comes in large amounts then hospitalization is needed. A nephrologist can be consulted. New researches shows good results in PKD patients when 'Art of Living' OMBW or sahaj program is done. You must attend this also.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
