Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dark Pigmentation And Pain After Foreskin Retraction?
I have been noticing that when I retract my foreskin it does not return to its normal position readily which is unusual for me. Instead the skin seems to form a ring around the base of the glans and I noticed areas of dark pigmentation. The foreskin readily moves back to the normal position if I move it however. Also when the penis is erect I noticed that when the foreskin is pulled back the glans bends downward and it is painful. I only started noticing these problems over the past few days and I am very concerned.
I went through your details. The given things are normal and you have nothing to worry about. On an erect condition, when you pull your foreskin back, the glans bend a bit backward because of the connection between the foreskin and the urethra end. this is a safety precaution. This is natural and this happens to everyone unless he has done circumcision. The dark pigmentation you are talking about could be smegma. A mixture of semen, urine and dust. accumulated within the foreskin. Keep the area clean and dry. It is not necessary for your foreskin to return back to its original position after being pulled back. This happens because of its flexibility. Don't worry. all these things happen always. But you happen to notice this just now. Don't be anxious.
