Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dark Spotting And Cramps After Having Intercourse?
My period ended about two days ago, I had Intercourse with the same person I ve been with all year and then today I noticed light spotting that has turned into a menstrual like bleed, but how can it be when it already ended? It started out old dark blood and has slowly turned brighter. I m worried. I have menstrual cramp like pains since it became heavier.
I share your concerns. It appears that you have some lesion in your uterus as it is menstrual type bleeding and blood turning bright coloured in the end. It could be extended periods too. It could be injury due to sexual act (less chances as you have been together for one year) I always advise my patients to under go a ultrasound scan of uterus to come to a diagnosis.
I would like to advise you to kindly visit a gynecologist urgently. Meanwhile keep an account of blood loss by counting pads used, good fiet, enough fluids and avoid sexual activities.
I hope i have clarified your queries. Do write for follow up queries. Please provide a feedback. I wish you rapid recovery. Thank you.
