What Causes Dark Stool After Taking Vitamin B12 Supplements?

I ve been taking a liquid b12 supplement for the past couple of weeks and for about the same time I ve noticed my stools are a very dark brown and tarry texture. could this be due to the vitamin. 53 year old male and had colonoscopy 3 yrs ago all clear and told to come back in 10 years.

This should not be related to vitamin b12 and only if you take iron supplements this may be the case. Such stool colour may be sign of certain diet but also, colon or stomach bleeding may manifest on this way so it would be good to check blood count especially red blood count and do colonoscopy or gastroscopy if required to rule out such bleeding.
