The symptoms you mentioned like dark urine and
excessive sweating are clear indicators of
dehydration. If we see each symptom separately, the following are the probable causes:
1) Dark urine and excessive sweating can be a symptoms of
diabetes Mellitus related
hypoglycemia.
2) Dark urine causes:
Dehydration
Usage of medications
Fever
Pheochromocytoma
3) Excessive sweating is seen in:
Extreme heat
Extreme physical activity
Acromegaly
Diabetic hypoglycemia
Hyperthyroidism
Fever
Leukemia
Malaria
Lymphoma
Light periods also called as oligomenorrhoez is seen in:
Anemia
Depression
Eating disorders
Bipolar disorders
Polycystic ovarian disease
Hyperthyroidism
Pelvic inflammatory disease
Cushing's disease
Prolactinomas
I would recommend the following to any patient who comes with similar symptoms:
1) Complete blood picture
2) Hemoglobin
3) Fasting and post Prandial, blood sugars
4) HbA1c
5) Thyroid profile
If the symptoms of your daughter persist or worsen even after 1 week, please see a physician for thorough examination and appropriate treatment. Ask her to drink oral rehydration solution more in the place of plain water to replenish the lost salts. Ask her to take iron rich foods or
iron supplements.
