What Causes Dark Vaginal Discharge After Receiving Depo Shots?

So I got two depo shots done and my third one was due beginning of this month and I ve been having dark discharge and well as a thicker white but there hasn t been a foul oder, I also havent had an appetite for over four days now and feel sick in the mornings till I get moving around around. Is this normal after the depo because when I was younger i was on it for three years straight and never had this happen.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bleeding is a very usual side effect of Depo shot so it may be the reason why you are having these bleeding. On the other hand it is advisable to have a gynecological visit to make sure.

According to the findings the doctor might ask for a pap smear, samples for infections and also a transvaginal ultrasound if he needs to make sure of the cause of the bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
