What Causes Darkening Of Skin After Usage Of Corn And Callus Remover?

I recently used dr. Scholl s liquid corn and callus remover and it peeled skin off and I think the corn and calluses are about gone but now the surrounding skin is blackened and the corn is super white which makes it very noticeable on my caramel skin... can you please advise?
