What Causes Decrease In The Creatine Level While On Zyrtec?

Hello - I have been on zyrtec for 4 months for an acute outbreak of weepy blisters due to an allergic reaction of unknown origin. Bloodwork at begining of reaction showed a normal creatine level. Three months later, my creatine level is low. Could this be due to zyrtec? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Zyrtec is not known to cause the creatinine levels to go down, so it unlikely the drop in creatinine levels is due to Zyrtec in your case.

On the other hand, there are many factors that affect the creatinine levels and as long as there is no increase above the normal range of creatinine in blood you do not need to worry.
Creatinine level going down is not worrisome.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
General and Family Physician.
