What Causes Deep Wrenching Cough With Salty Phlegm?
Hi I have had what I thought was a cold but its been with me a little over 3 weeks now. I've been to the doctor twice. I was given 2 different types of antibiotics and nothing seems to help. The problem is in my chest. I have a deep wrenching cough and it almost has a salty taste . What could this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of deep wrenching cough with salty phlegm which is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to take antibacterial drugs such as Levofloxacin along with anti-inflammatory drug. Apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food substances. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get some routine blood investigation done. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will boost immunity. You should get x-ray chest done and get it examined.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
