What Causes Deficiency Of Vitamin D?

Vitamin d at 30 per blood test. I'm 47 yrs old, eat healthy work out daily
What could cause the deficiency? Had mammo after surgery, plastic, 3rd time, which body contained ton of calcium deposits, which now r scattered throughout breast tissue. Noted as benign.

Hormonal imbalances to absorption issues to renal compromises with ethnicity and age related osteoporosis and some associated disorders may cause that . It needs an expert opinion after complete clinical correlation to find out the cause.following people are at more risk for low vitamin d levels and they need to be screened on regular basis
Patients with osteoporosis
Patients with a malabsorption syndrome
Black and Hispanic individuals
Obese persons (body mass index >30 kg/m2)
Patients with disorders that affect the metabolism of vitamin D and phosphate (eg, chronic kidney disease)
