Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dehydration And Bodyache After Gallbladder Removal?
I had my gall bladder removed on March 13. The last 2 days I have been dehydrated with severe pain mostly on my right side, but also all over. I cannot pass gas as normal, can t eat or drink, but the pain is so bad I use a pillow to scream into. Could this be my appendix? MY intuition tells me something is not right.
I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing pain. There may be various reasons for persistent abdominal pain even after gall bladder removal. If I were your doctor, I would discuss with the surgeon who operated on you to get details regarding the level of difficulty during surgery and intraoperative findings. Then I would advise you to get an ultrasonography of the abdomen. Try a course of antacids and proton pump inhibitors after consulting your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bright Jebaraj S
