Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Trying to conceive can be a long journey. This can be frustrating.
Birth control pills are hormone based and interfere with the normal
hormonal cycle, suppressing ovulation & causing endometrial changes that are hostile for
implantation.
Once withdrawn, it can take upto 6 months (usually 3)for ovulation to occur normally.
There is a 25% chance for conceiving each month (if you are below 30 and you ovulate regularly) with regular intercourse.
This drops to 15% if you are above 30. These values are based on studies and can vary between individuals.
I recommend :
-an
OBGYN consult to make sure all is well
-a
folic acid supplement everyday
-maintain healthy weight and diet
-have regular intercourse (every alternate day), especially in the middle third of your cycle (of your cycles are regular).
-use
ovulation prediction kits &
basal body temperature monitoring to isolate ovulation day. This day and the three days prior to it are your most fertile days (high probability of conceiving if intercourse is timed in these days)
- try for 6 months (if above 30 years) or for a year, if younger.
-if not pregnant, see your OBGYN /
fertility specialist to check for possible factors that is causing a delay in conceiving.
Till then stay positive and avoid too much stress.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
