Hello,
Infertility has very wide range of causes related to both the partners. I would mention few here:
1) Female factors result in only one third of total infertility cases.
2) Ovulation disorders like PCOD, primary ovarian deficiency,
hypothalamic dysfunction, too much prolactin
3) Injury or dysfunctional fallopian tubes due to recurrent
pelvic inflammatory disease,
tuberculosis etc.
4) Endometriosis
5) Uterine polyps or tumors
6) Defect in shape of uterus since birth
7) Cervical stenosis
8) Cervical incompetence
9) Age more than 35 yrs decreases the chances of conception in females
10) Smoking
11) Obesity
12) Alcohol
Male factors:
1) Azoospermia
2) Varicoceles
3) Ejaculation disorders
4)
Antibodies that kill sperms
5) Tumors
6) Undescended testis
7) Diabetes mellitus
8) Celiac disease
9) Chromosome defects
10) Problems in intercourse like erectile dysfunction
In most of the cases it is both female and male factors combined that cause infertility. You need to have a gynecologist appointment and thorough clinical evaluation for the specific diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
