What Causes Delay In Conception While Treating PCOS?

Hi, I m 27 years old and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for sometime. I have an average of 48-50 days between my period. Currently, am on metaformin for PCOS treatment along with Susten 100. Can you tell me when my ovulation date could be depending on my lengthy cycle?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
PCOS is a condition in which there is hormonal imbalance leading to delay in menstruation and untimely ovulation. This would result in difficulty in conceiving.
However, it is a treatable disorder. With medications, it is possible to make cycles regular so that ovulation could take place in time. However, it may take some time for it to happen.
What medications has been instituted to you is right. Kindly continue with it as prescribed and do the necessary follow-up. Kindly have patience for things to happen.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
