What Causes Delay In Menstrual Bleeding In A Sexually Active Person?

Hello. It has been 36 days after my last period and I still haven't gotten it. I took two home pregnancy tests and they both came out negative. I have been very stressed lately, so that could be a factor as to it being late. However, today I went to use the bathroom and had to poop. Immediately after, I had bad stomach pains and tried to go again. I couldn't. So I rested and it went away. I was still sore but it wasn't bad cramping. I also haven't had a normal sleep schedule lately, I've been stressed for the last few weeks, and haven't been drinking enough water. Am I pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.
Delayed menses in your case could be due to stress, emotional disturbances, certain underlying medical illness, or hormonal imbalance. Besides, kindly repeat the pregnancy test on the early morning urine sample and consult a gynecologist for further evaluation like to induce menses if the pregnancy test is negative and other lab tests turned out to be normal.
Hope this will work.
Best regards.
