What Causes Delay In Menstrual Bleeding Post A Suprecur Shot?
Hi doctor,I am on my first ICSI cycle. I ve now started Suprecur injection for 12 days and still no sign of period. The instruction from leaflet says I should have period in 7-10 days from the first day of injection.Usually my period works like clock. Is it normal? Does it mean I am not responding to the medicine or over responding? Will it delay my transfer date? Thanks for your help!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Actually, Suprecur injection is given to suppress normal ovulation... so that ovaries are put to rest & then other ovulation-stimulating drugs are given to stimulate ovum maturation followed by ICSI treatment... It forms a sort of uterine preparation for artificial stimulation of ovulation.
The procedure follows after. So please do not expect your period while you are in the shots. The treating doctor would examine your uterus for being properly prepared... if not you would be I diced to get periods & then the whole procedure would come again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
