What Causes Delay In Menstruation After Taking Sprintec?
I have been on sprintec for 7 months. I ve always taken it on time and I ve never missed a day except one day I took it 30 minutes late. I started the white pills on Monday and it is now Saturday and I haven t started a period yet should I be worried?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Sprintec combination hormone medication containing Norgestimate and Ethinyl estradiol, which is used to prevent pregnancy. Nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, breast tenderness, swelling of the ankles/feet or weight change are commonly encountered side effects. Other side effects related to menstruation which might be experienced include spotting or missed/irregular periods may occur, especially during the first few months of use. If any of such side effects persist or worsen, you need to contact your doctor promptly for a review. In case you miss 2 periods in a row or 1 period if the pill has not been used properly, you need to contact your doctor for a pregnancy test. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
