What Causes Delay In Menstruation Other Than Pregnancy?

Hi, I have missed period for a day now. Supposed to be here August 4th 2014. Before that, I had light pink discharge, not much of it, cramps and lower back pain. Nipples and breasts are normal. Also frequent headaches. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. I get my period either for 6 or 7 days. Do you have any idea what it could mean?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Just one day missed period by one day does not indicate the pregnancy.
Pink discharge, cramp and back pain may be a preparative stage of the period or it could be implantation bleeding.
If it is implantation bleeding then your period will not come.
And should be confirmed by the urine pregnancy test and or blood HCG test to confirm the pregnancy.
Other cause of delayed period: hormonal imbalance, excessive stress, change in lifestyle, ovarian cyst/PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid dysfunction.
All should be investigated in the absence of period and pregnancy after consulting the gynecologist
