What Causes Delay In Menstruation Other Than Pregnancy?

Hello My name is Summer Steele and looking for a new OB GYN. I had a daughter last year the month of march, I was put on the depo shot soon as I left the hospital but due to complications I switched to the pill. I stopped taking the pill this April a week after I stopped I had bleeding for about 3-4 days then in June I had a real period the whole 5 days it stay on it wasn t light it was heavy like my periods normally be. But now it s September I ve have yet to have another period, I ve been feeling queasy, sleepy, moody, bloated, my breast are larger and itch from time to time, I get head aches and can be very emotional. I took at pregnancy test today not this morning and got a negative on the test but something is telling me that I am indeed pregnant. Is there any explanation to this do I need to get blood drawn ?

Hello there, thanks for posting your query!
I m not sure of your previous menstrual cycles and it is quite possible that you may have few months of irregular periods after stopping pills. Pregnancy test being negative suggests you are not pregnant although false results ( though very rare can not be ruled out ). But in all probability the breast tenderness, bloating, mood changes, head aches suggest protesterone action which is evidenced only after ovulation and this in turn suggests impending periods. So your symptoms are quite normal and they will be relieved following periods. But if you are too unsure of pregnancy, you may consider taking another pregnancy test at home. And if your second home pregnancy test is also negative it is absolutely nothing to worry at all and I simply suggest you to wait for your periods.
Hope this information helps you. Take care.
