What Causes Delay In Periods After Having Depo Provera Injection?

I had a depo provera injection 6 months ago, and have not had a normal period since. I have not had sex since the injection should have worn off, but my periods have not resumed, and I have had some mild pregnancy symptoms, headaches and mild lower back pain. What are my chances of pregnancy, and what should I do?

Hi,

The chance of pregnancy is very low. Still, to be on the safe side, do urine pregnancy test at home. Regarding delayed period, it is quite common after having Depo Provera injection. Therefore, if pregnancy test is negative, you need to take hormone tablets for few days to make periods regular.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
