What Causes Delay In Periods And A Negative Pregnancy Result?

Hi, I will get my periods usually around 30 to 40 days. Now my period is delayed as I am in 73rd day. Tested for pregnancy, urine gravindex test. Result came as negative. Whether I can take pills for getting periods ?? Or else should I do blood test to confirm pregnancy ?? ( Planning for having a baby )

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The urine pregnancy test comes positive by 10-14 days post conception. I suggest you take a blood test for beta HCG and pelvic ultrasound.

In case there is no evidence of pregnancy on all these tests, then you need to consult your gynecologist to investigate for cause of delayed periods.

Hormonal imbalance, anemia, stress are some of the causes of delayed periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
