What Causes Delay In Periods And Being On Zoloft?

Hello. I started taking zoloft one month ago. I ve always had a regular menstrual cycle and I am a week late with several negative pregnancy tests. I have many symptoms of pregnancy. Went to obgyn, they do not see anything but a thickened lining of uterus no sac. I am wondering if I can still be pregnant or if missing a period on zoloft is more likely.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pregnancy tests can detect pregnancy by day 11 to 14 after possible conception.
If the tests were done after this time then they are likely accurate.

There are different causes for period delay including: (1) physical stress or illness
(2)high levels of the prolactin hormone
(3)emotional stress or illness
(4)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone
(5)extreme physical activity
(6)polycystic ovarian syndrome
(7)side effect of medication]

Zoloft is not known to have this effect but any emotional illness or stress may be playing a role.

I hope this helps
