What Causes Delay In Periods And Breast Milk Discharge Despite Having Negative UPT?
I have been using cabergoline for d past 2months and three weeks now but still could not see my period coming.my breast was ok when I was using it bcos I did notice there no breast milk coming out of it again.i did home pregnancy text and it appeared negative,now my breast is getting heavy again as if I m pregnant and I m worried as I don t want to find out that I m pregnant and loose d baby while on cabergoline.Thank Bii
Hello, Thank you for asking at HCM. If you have had irregular periods and were started on carbegoline this might have been due to high levels of prolactine in blood which is a cause of irregular periods or lack of periods and also may cause milk coming out of the breast. I would recommend you to check the prolactine level in blood to make sure it is not high and still causing you the symptoms of lack of periods and lactation even though you are using carbegoline and are not pregnant. Your medical provider will decide on further testing and treatment according to the prolactine level. He/she might also need to asks for tests to find out the cause of high prolactine if it is the case. Hope this is helpful and answers to your question.
