What Causes Delay In Periods And Breast Tenderness?

I am a 53 year old women. Have not had a period in 17 months. This last month I have experience breast tenderness and started what appears is my period, normal bleeding like my last period 17 months ago. Never taken any HT. I eat right and exercise daily.
