General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Delay in periods can be due to hormonal disturbance / psychological stress after marriage. Otherwise, it can be hormonal imbalance following ovarian, thyroid, pituitary problems or PCOD.

You should confirm negative pregnancy by blood HCG test then consult a gynecologist for prescription of pills to stimulate periods. If she recommends after examining you, you can take cyclical hormones to regularise the periods. However, in case the delay still persists, get investigated to find the cause of the problem and start with cause specific medication. Be under the care of a gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
