What Causes Delay In Periods And Cramps While Taking Primolut?

I used to take Yaz tablets for 2 years because I suffer from PCOS and irregular periods. Stopped YAZ 2 months ago but had no period. Took Primolut three times daily for ten days but after two weeks I still have had no period. I know I have a bit of stress but I have severe cramps now. Do I have to wait for it to come naturally or get a scan?

Hello,

Yes. Primolut can cause delayed periods and vaginal spotting and abdominal cramps. But by now you should have gotten your periods. As you have stated the cramps are severe, please do go for an ultrasound imaging of abdomen and pelvis as soon as possible. Please consult a gynecologist for detailed clinical evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
